Creating kids’ party invitations
If you’re planning a themed party for your child, making the invitations yourself can be a lot of fun. Crafting them together with your child adds to the excitement. Here are eight tips for creating super fun invitations!
Pirate party
Fill small bottles with sand and a rolled-up piece of paper containing the invitation. Decorate the bottles with rope and pirate symbols like skulls and treasure chests for an authentic pirate look.
Princess or witch party
Make magic wands by decorating long sticks with glitter, ribbons, and sparkling stars. Attach a card with the invitation to the top and invite the children to the party with their own magical wand.
Thief party
Create invitations in the shape of striped prison uniforms. Cut strips of black and white paper and glue them onto a card. Add a stamp of handcuffs and write the invitation with secret messages!
Underwater party
Make the invitations in the shape of fish. Cut fish shapes out of colored paper and decorate them with scales, fins, and glitter glue. Add a ribbon so the invitations can swim like fish to the guests.
Fairytale party
Create an invitation in the shape of an enchanted castle gate. Decorate with towers, ivy, and sparkling gemstones. Add a secret key that guests will need to enter the gate (to the party)!
Dinosaur party
Invite the children with invitations in the shape of dinosaur eggs. Cut out egg-shaped cards and give them colorful dinosaur patterns. It’s also fun to make a tear line halfway and have a dinosaur head come out of the egg.
Superhero party
Make invitations in the shape of superhero masks. Cut out mask-shaped cards and let them decorate with bold colors, lightning bolts, and stars. Add an elastic band so guests can wear their own masks during the party!
Spy party
Create a spy passport invitation for each child. This passport contains a secret code required to access the spy party. At the party, the passport can be supplemented, for example, with a fingerprint and a photo.
Here are a few more tips for making invitations for a kids’ party:
- Use bright colors and illustrations to make the invitation extra festive and appealing.
- Keep it simple and clear so that all the important information stands out. Clearly state the date, time, and location so parents know exactly where and when the party is taking place.
- Don’t forget to involve the birthday child in making the invitations. Let them help choose the theme, text, and design of the invitation. And make the party invitations together.
- Before sending out the invitations, double-check all the details. Is everything on the invitation correct?
Have lots of fun and success!
